I live in a small mountain town so there really is no competitive market for internet service. There is currently maybe one and a half providers here, the half being a company that's trying to start up and keeps advertising their services but never seems to actually start up operation here. The internet speed is at best okay, and the pricing for it is fine--low pricing for okay service. My biggest complaint would be the frequency with which the internet is unavailable. It's not even just weather (which we do get a lot of weather related service issues from wildfires to snow), but one to three times per month the service just inexplicably cuts out. There's a signal and it says it's connected, but there is no internet access. The company is also strangely quiet when it comes to outages, as they have no known outage map and are only available for customer support during typical business hours.
