October 15, 2024 In my household, we have basically tried each ISP that offers service in our specific area, and the one thing that they all have in common is this: they do not provide the speeds they promise. I'm not sure why this is, but it seems like a consistent thing amongst all of our ISP options. We've tried Windstream, TDS, and now Leaco. Windstream and TDS were cable providers, while Leaco is fiber. We expected the Fiber to be way better, but the speeds are still slow at times. They are all priced around the same, so purchasing Internet service here in southeast New Mexico is going to cost the same regardless of who you choose. Finally, the equipment that they lease you (Modem/Router) never seems to be up to par, in my opinion. Mobile 5G networks seem to work better than the ISPs here, on occasion, which is kind of ridiculous.
