My internet service provider is a local company in the town that I live in. I strongly feel like because it's a local company, they can get away with a lot of things that bigger internet companies cannot get away with. For example, this company is constantly changing and raising their prices multiple times a year. If I were to go to a commercial or standard large internet company, I feel like a price raise *might* happen once or twice a year, understandably. Secondly, having such a small internet provider means way less customer service options. If my internet goes out in the middle of the night, I have to wait until the next morning (only Monday thru Friday) to speak to someone about troubleshooting. Overall, my ISP does a decent job, but I can't help but feel like I should switch to something more reliable soon.

We pay $78 for 100 mbs per month. 5 users. I do not think we have other options to choose from in our area.

Our internet provider is a locally owned non-profit that also provides water, electricity, phone and cable tv services. They have 24-hour local staffed customer service agents available for emergency and after-hours issues. We were upgraded to fiber shortly before the pandemic began. We rent our equipment from the utility and they maintain and update it as needed. We've been very happy with them and they have always been responsive to our needs and willing to help us with any issues that have come up over the years.
