HughesNet Satellite
August 05, 2026 ### One star only because zero isn’t an option HughesNet provided, without question, the worst internet service and customer service we have ever experienced. We remained customers for seven years—not because we were satisfied, but because we live in a rural area and had no other viable option. The service was never consistently reliable. Streaming a complete movie was nearly impossible. Calls repeatedly dropped, including calls made to HughesNet’s own customer service department because the connection was so unstable. When that happened, they wouldn’t call us back, and we often couldn’t reconnect with them to finish resolving the problem. HughesNet repeatedly claimed we had used all our data, even during periods when we had barely streamed anything and hadn’t managed to watch complete movies. We were told that exceeding the data allowance would only result in slower speeds, but what we experienced wasn’t merely a slowdown—the service would become completely disrupted and practically unusable. Technical support was equally frustrating. Technicians would identify problems or recommend solutions, only for HughesNet to refuse to authorize or implement what its own technicians recommended. We spent years calling, troubleshooting, repeating the same information, and being passed around without receiving a lasting solution. We paid every month for a service that frequently failed to provide even basic, dependable internet access. The moment fiber internet finally became available in our area, we left HughesNet. Since switching, the difference has been unbelievable: reliable service, uninterrupted streaming, stable calls, and none of the constant excuses or mysterious data problems we dealt with before. That alone confirmed that our devices and usage were not the real issue. Seven years with HughesNet gave them more than enough opportunity to provide the service and support we were paying for. They consistently failed at both. I would never recommend HughesNet to anyone. If it appears to be your only option, investigate absolutely every possible alternative before signing up. Being without internet may be less aggravating than paying for internet that repeatedly doesn’t work.

Spectrum Cable
May 11, 2026 My internet provider has done exactly what I expected. The outages have been minimal and short in nature. I've never had a major complaint. When a competitor came in with a way lower offer in our neighborhood, I was going to switch and Spectrum essentially sliced my bill in half just like that. I didn't even raise a stink, they just offered it right away. Great customer service and I'm totally fine with the speed they provide, since we're not very "active" internet users.

Spectrum Cable
May 11, 2026 They are not too bad, but not perfect. Usually we get decent speeds (around 900 mbs) I do believe that is what we pay for, although sometimes it will slow down for a day or 2, usually around 50 mbs, and will go up or down depending on the weather. When we had an issue with our internet (few years ago) we got a hold of them, let them know the speed was really slow, and they sent us a new modem. I connect to it with my pc and phone, and the speed is faster than the original modem we had. I guess it was old. Now we use 2 wireless routers, one older that my old pc and tablet need to use, and one newer that the remaining devices use, a desktop pc and at least 5 cell phones and another 2 tablets. We don't usually have issues anymore, and mostly satisfied with our service.

Ziply Fiber
May 06, 2026 Overall we have been happy with Ziply Fiber provider. The price has continually increased, however. Now we are experiencing trouble with internet speeds reaching all parts of our house, but I am not sure how much of this is a problem with Ziply, as opposed to needing a signal enhancer or moving of connections to another part of the house. When we contact the provider, they have been very helpful trying to help us troubleshoot.

Ziply Fiber
May 03, 2026 The service seems to be lacking in speed, which is a problem. Overall, it seems generally reliable. The only alternative is Comcast so Ziply is the lesser of two evils, I guess lol
