TDS
August 19, 2026 I recently canceled our TDS internet due to almost constant buffering in a suburb surrounded by TDS customers. I had a credit balance at the time of cancelation. One month later TDS withdrew $112.69 from my bank account leaving me with $160.00 + credit because it was on autopay even though it had a credit balance and service had been canceled. I called for a refund and was told I'd have to wait from 120-150 days + 3 weeks + 10 days for my refund. What does that even mean? So TDS Corporate has the use of my money (and everyone else's)for 150 days. It's a racket. Don't get TDS and if you do DON'T do auto pay. Predatory policies!

Google Fiber
May 29, 2026 I have been very pleased with Google Fiber. We've had it over 3 years now and experienced only a single service interruption of a few hours. When we realized that the initial WiFi point was not sufficient to provide good signal in the 2nd bedroom of our apartment, they quickly shipped a second point to us. We installed all the equipment ourselves. Having an app to walk us through the process made the setup very easy. We recommend Google Fiber to anyone who lives in an area where it is available.

Avative Fiber
May 17, 2026 Avative is everything I want in an ISP. Good price, good speed, and most importantly great reliability. In fact I have had a higher uptime with them than any other ISP I've ever used, and I've gone through just about all of the large country/region-wide ISPs over the years.
I was initially skeptical because they are a smaller local company, but I was having so many issues with my previous ISP going down constantly and routinely having slower speeds I decided to give Avative a chance. Wow, am I glad I did. I upgraded from 600Mbs to 1Gbs upload/download, I'm paying $30/mo LESS for it, and now maybe for the first time ever I am actually getting the listed speed and I don't have to deal with constant random outtages. 10/10 best ISP experience I've ever had. The only downside is if I ever have to move this will be one of the number 1 things I wont want to give up.
