XFINITY Cable
January 18, 2026 we have had comcast infinity cable for over 7 years. overall, the speed and service is great for our area. sometimes there are internet outages but nothing over 12 hours. almost every year, the price goes up. we are honestly waiting for fiber to be available in our area. when that comes, we most likely will switch since there are no loyalty incentives to remain an xfinity customer.

XFINITY Cable
January 04, 2026 I have been a Comcast, who offers internet service under the Xfinity brand, for over two decades now. For a long time I had a landline, cable TV, and internet service through them. A few years ago I "cut the cord" and switched to internet only, largely do to their price regular price increases. They are close to pricing me out even now, however, and I am actively looking into alternative providers. Comcast reported a net loss of 183,000 residential broadband customers in Q1 2025 and recently "identified two primary causes. One is price transparency and predictability and the other is the level of ease of doing business with us." The price predictability is a major concern for me. They have recently removed data caps for all customers and rolled rout a new pricing structure as ways to stem this loss. I will examine their new offerings but I suspect I will be part of their losses in Q3 of this year.

Spectrum Fiber
December 26, 2025 My service with Spectrum has overall been real good. there have been very few outages in the almost three years of using their service. They improved the speed of the WIFI and said it was free , we wouldnt have to pay any more for it. the exact same time, same bill, It went up around ten more dollars. This was just for service not the new speed. The year long introductry price was fifty dollars a month. Two and a half years later I pay ninety a month. I can see paying a little more after introductory but this is a big jump. We dont have a lot of choices where I live , but it may be time to shop around.
