XFINITY Cable

April 18, 2026

There is a major problem with Xfinity cable in my area; it is quite unreliable. I often have outages for several hours at a time a few times a month. The unreliability coupled with the customer "service" that is provided by Xfinity leaves a lot to be desired. If you can, I would consider another provider other than Xfinity. Xfinity has continued on Comcast's legacy of very poor service, monopolistic approaches, and deaf ears when you try to talk to customer service.

Centurylink DSL

March 23, 2026

I've been hearing that my provider has (locally) been canceling accounts as they (CenturyLink) are trying to exit the home internet business. This is very anxiety inducing to me because we don't have a lot of choices.

Where I live, my choice of internet is : DSL (VDSL2 to be exact), 4g/5g or Sat internet. Everything is expensive. I'm paying close $60 a month for VDSL2 (2 line setup, so 80mbps). And i doubt we'll ever get fiber out here.

And just a couple weeks ago we had an internet outage. I guess this outage affected the entire country, due to a DNS issue. I'm not happy with my provider because of these reasons, but I am stuck with them because they are the only hard line to my house provider i have access to.
