Nextlink Fixed Wireless
July 29, 2026 They were the first company to install high speed internet through a direct connection in my neighborhood and many people signed up. However as they acquired more customers their service quality dropped as their infrastructure couldn't handle the traffic. I pay for a 100mpbs monthly plan and on good days I get 15-20 at best. A lot of the time it's under 5 with frequent outages. Restart your router is their go to defense. Many people have switched to AT&T and Legacy, however these companies are also swamped and having issues. Several techs have come out to inspect, "that's not supposed to be setup like this." is a familiar quote. Some changes are made, then another tech is sent out and repeats the phrase. I'm guessing that there is a high turnover rate for field employees at Nextlink. So many new people without experience just doing the minimum in order to close out the service ticket.

July 04, 2026 There was an issue at installation, but it was resolved. I'm a sr. infrastructure engineer and low latency is important. Frontier delivers whereas Spectrum did not.

March 06, 2026 My primary complaint is that the cost is very high. I have service in my main home and a vacation home so I thought I would receive some sort of discount. None was to be had.
