Starlink Satellite
August 24, 2024 As a resident of San Francisco, I have always struggled to find a reliable and fast internet service provider. The densely populated city, combined with numerous physical and environmental obstacles, often led to frustratingly inconsistent connections. However, my experience dramatically improved when I switched to Starlink.
Speed and Reliability
Starlink's performance has been nothing short of phenomenal. The speeds are impressive, often surpassing traditional ISPs in the area. I consistently experience download speeds ranging from 100 to 200 Mbps, with upload speeds hovering around 30 Mbps. This is particularly beneficial for activities that require high bandwidth, such as streaming 4K videos, online gaming, and participating in video conferences.
What sets Starlink apart is its remarkable reliability. Unlike cable or DSL, which can be prone to outages and slowdowns during peak hours, Starlink's satellite-based technology provides a steady and dependable connection. Even during adverse weather conditions, such as fog or rain, the service remains robust, which is crucial for those of us who work from home or rely on the internet for daily tasks.
Ease of Installation
The installation process for Starlink was straightforward and user-friendly. The kit arrived with everything needed to get started, including a sleek dish and a user-friendly app to assist with setup. It took me less than an hour to install and activate the service. The app guided me through finding the optimal location for the dish and ensured it was properly aligned for the best signal reception.

Sonic Fiber
February 24, 2023 Sonic is a relatively new provider in my area. They had a great deal for the first year. However, the price went significantly up the year after. Customer service has been great and the internet speed is consistently fast.

XFINITY Cable
January 05, 2023 I don't like how Comcast will temporarily grant me a deal and then raise the price by $20 or more when the deal expires. I would be more likely to remain a loyal customer if they didn't price gouge.
