Hotwire Communications Fiber

January 04, 2025

Our Internet provider is contracted with our Homeowners Association and the cost is included in our HOA dues which also includes cable TV. I do not wish to pay for Cable TV, I would prefer to choose streaming companies that I want to watch. Being a local company we do have frequent times when the system is down for brief periods. Also being in Florida after hurricanes the internet service can be out for several days. We are concerned about the ability to get information from the Internet during storms because there are frequent interruptions. Also, what we pay for the Internet through our HOA dues is about $65.00 a month and their are better more dependable services that charge less money, but we have no choice.

Spectrum Cable

June 07, 2023

Generally speaking the internet provided by Spectrum has been reliable. It stays online with reasonable speeds. Despite that level of reliability on a more technical level I would not consider them reliable. Spectrum seems to experience a fair bit of packet loss which, while doesn't wholly take down the internet, it does make online gaming and streaming experiences less consistent and fun.
