Socket Fiber

I like that the price isn't "discounted" for a year or two so that it automatically gets jacked up after a while like a lot of companies do.

After switching to Socket (the new fiber service), TVs are laggy, security issues with phones, equipment provided is inadequate to serve the house. The competitor's (non-fiber) service is $15 less per month and serves multiple TVs and smartphones without any hitch.

Brightspeed Fiber

DO NOT RECOMMEND. My internet went out this morning and I was on the phone with them for 2 hours explaining how I just had surgery and have a broken foot. I have to work from home this week but now I cannot because they cannot get a technician out until Wednesday. There was no empathy and understanding. This is costing me 3 days of work. I cannot leave my apartment due to my injury. They compensated me $5 for my inconvenience. Absolutely horrendous service.

My internet provider has been great overall. If I ever have any issues with the wifi not working correctly I myself usually can fix it myself. If needed I can contact the internet providers customer service and get the issue resolved quickly and efficiently.

Brightspeed Fiber

ve never had an outage or issues, so I haven't even had to reach out to support. I did feel like at first I was pushing the 700-800mbps speeds, now its closer to 500. This is wired devices, I know that wireless you'll see some degradation. It is a shared service and the higher plan is "up to 1g" not guaranteed. Fiber is always preferred, and its vastly better than Mediacom coax that I had before. Better price, more bandwidth, and much lower latency.
