Optimum Cable

May 01, 2026

Our internet runs very smoothly unless there is obvious bad weather outside. My husband and I both play online video games with our PC's, as well as another member of the household using the internet to watch television. I can count on one hand how many times the internet has slowed down my ability to play online games and do tasks on the internet on my computer. Optimum also has great customer service as well as the ability to test the internet speed on your cellphone to make sure where the problem lies, if it is a computer issue or an internet issue.

Optimum Fiber

March 04, 2026

I am mostly happy with my provider and their pricing. Recently, there has been an issue with the internet going out intermittently, never for more than 5-10 minutes at a time. Optimum is aware of the issue, and has been working on maintenance. They are communicative about when maintenance is planned and is occurring.

Frontier Fiber

February 16, 2026

The pricing with Frontier is cheaper than other companies. The speed is better and more reliable than internet providers I've used in the past. I've only had one issue when our power went off and back on which did something to an older cable in the box that connects everything and it stopped working. But they sent someone to come fix it the next day. Their customer service does try to sell you stuff when you talk to them which is annoying, but since I've only had to talk to them for that one issue it hasn't been a problem. I'm very happy with Frontier's fiber wifi!

XFINITY Cable

February 11, 2026

Xfinity overall is a good choice for cable and internet. They have an app that allows you to fix most problems that occur on your own in a quick way. However, it’s so hard to get ahold of a real person when you have concerns that can’t be fixed from the app. Their services are also extremely expensive, not super affordable for most people. They also get you into a contract, and every couple of months your price rises. To get it changed, you have to call customer service and can be on the phone for hours. Xfinity is our only option living in a small city, and it’s one of our highest bills. If we had other options, I probably wouldn’t continue with them.
