XFINITY Cable
February 02, 2026 I am currently using Xfinity by Comcast as my internet provider. I recently moved to cable internet by Xfinity versus 5G Home internet from Verizon. My Xfinity internet is faster, more stable, and cheaper than my former Verizon plan. Joining Xfinity was simple, as all the equipment needed was provided by Comcast, and the self-installation process at home was a breeze. The fact that I no longer have to place my antenna/router combo into the "ideal" area of my home to get a strong 5G signal has been a game changer, especially as I have just moved into a new apartment in a large urban city that was not facing Verizon's tower's unobstructed. To top it all off Xfinity offers a locked in price guarantee so that I know exactly what my home internet price will be for years, with an upgrade path if I choose that includes faster speeds that Verizon 5G Home internet cannot begin to match. I am quite happy with my switch to Xfinity by Comcast. As the current promos say, "The Wi-Fi is booming!"

XFINITY Cable
February 02, 2026 I use Xfinity (Comcast) for both internet and voice through a direct cable connection to my own Motorola MT8733 modem router that is then distributed via wired MOXA connections throughout my house. I current pay for a 1GB connection with unlimited data, which is adequate for my needs, and also pay for the cost of voice. Total runs around $150 per month, which isn't the cheapest alternative. Xfnity would prefer I switch to a Wi-Fi, rather than direct cable connection, and then rent their equipment. The cost would be less, but I'm uncomfortable renting their equipment, plus I have security concerns about Wi-Fi vs. a direct cable connection. If my costs continue to escalate, I may have to reconsider Wi-Fi. I should note that at the time I signed up with Xfinity, they were the only internet provider available. Now, AT&T has announced fiber availability in my neighborhood, although I don't know if they'll allow me to use a direct connection.

February 01, 2026 I have a special price for the service. The price is $30.00 per month. I will be looking for black Friday deals again for the next year. I am satisfied with the service because I have fat internet.

January 28, 2026 The price is ok. Lower is better but it's not an issue. Service is a but sorry. Our setup seems to have some problems with multiple devices starting connected, and in general we have connectivity issues, especially when it rains. However it's mostly dependable and hasn't presented a problem working from home and attending online meetings.
