XFINITY Cable
September 05, 2025 I have had xfinity/comcast forever. I keep it because I don't want to change my email address. The pricing is bundled with my cable for my tv, and every couple of years I have to call to get a better deal, as they raise the prices regularly.

Ziply Fiber
March 16, 2025 I'm pretty happy with our internet provider, Ziply Fiber, and have been a customer for more than 10 years. The fiber network in my area was originally owned by a company called Frontier, but Ziply took over the business a few years ago. We have the basic tier, which is already quite fast (I think it's 500 megabit speed), more than enough for a family of three who are all online frequently. We used to be Comcast (XFinity) customers, but I grew weary of the constant incremental price hikes; furthermore Comcast has a data cap of 1 TB per month for the standard consumer package, whereas Ziply has no data caps. I can't imagine how we would have gotten through the pandemic years under Comcast's data cap given how much we were all online. Additionally, we subscribe to Ziply's international phone package, which allows for 300 minutes of international phone calls per month for a reasonable price. I've learned from friends that fiber internet in our region is not an option for all local residents, so I consider us lucky to have the choice of using it. Overall we're quite happy with Ziply's service and pricing, and are unlikely to switch providers in the forseeable future.

XFINITY Cable
November 08, 2024 I have been with Xfinity on & off for decades but often not by choice as they are the only provider available in many areas. They lure you in with new customer deals but then quickly jack up the prices & seem to have no concern about customer retention. Calling customer service is a chore. They are generally unhelpful & aggressively push bundling packages. If I could choose any other provider I would.

HughesNet Satellite
August 05, 2026 ### One star only because zero isn’t an option HughesNet provided, without question, the worst internet service and customer service we have ever experienced. We remained customers for seven years—not because we were satisfied, but because we live in a rural area and had no other viable option. The service was never consistently reliable. Streaming a complete movie was nearly impossible. Calls repeatedly dropped, including calls made to HughesNet’s own customer service department because the connection was so unstable. When that happened, they wouldn’t call us back, and we often couldn’t reconnect with them to finish resolving the problem. HughesNet repeatedly claimed we had used all our data, even during periods when we had barely streamed anything and hadn’t managed to watch complete movies. We were told that exceeding the data allowance would only result in slower speeds, but what we experienced wasn’t merely a slowdown—the service would become completely disrupted and practically unusable. Technical support was equally frustrating. Technicians would identify problems or recommend solutions, only for HughesNet to refuse to authorize or implement what its own technicians recommended. We spent years calling, troubleshooting, repeating the same information, and being passed around without receiving a lasting solution. We paid every month for a service that frequently failed to provide even basic, dependable internet access. The moment fiber internet finally became available in our area, we left HughesNet. Since switching, the difference has been unbelievable: reliable service, uninterrupted streaming, stable calls, and none of the constant excuses or mysterious data problems we dealt with before. That alone confirmed that our devices and usage were not the real issue. Seven years with HughesNet gave them more than enough opportunity to provide the service and support we were paying for. They consistently failed at both. I would never recommend HughesNet to anyone. If it appears to be your only option, investigate absolutely every possible alternative before signing up. Being without internet may be less aggravating than paying for internet that repeatedly doesn’t work.

Ziply Fiber
May 03, 2026 The service seems to be lacking in speed, which is a problem. Overall, it seems generally reliable. The only alternative is Comcast so Ziply is the lesser of two evils, I guess lol
