For a couple years they were just fine. But around the beginning of May 2026 they made some upgrade and everyone in our neighborhood who uses YTTV streaming has been plagued with buffering. Outages run from a few seconds to more than 20 minutes. YTTV has verified in every case that this is not an issue with them. Home Telecom has ignored repeated requests for help other than sending out a technician who may or may not change out some equipment and then wave their arms and talk about "local construction." Submitting tickets now just results in them closing the ticket with no further action. In some cases they say it is weak WiFi and suggest an extender. That has not resolved the issue for any customer. However this also happens to those with a dedicated cable link to the router/hub. It even occurs to those who have substituted their own router/hub. They are unfortunately a monopoly in our area as there is not yet a local tower for cell service. it's pretty clear that the service is oversubscribed, and cannot handle the load as the issue gets much worse after 6 pm, while usually clearing up around midnight.

While the speed is great the connectivity is intermittent. So when I am in the middle of something, the internet cuts out for a few minutes, then reconnects. It is increasingly frustrating during peak times (between 6-10pm).

We're overall happy with Home Telecom. It was really the only choice at the time we decided to move to this area, and there have since been other options but we've stuck with them. The speeds do have issues occasionally, but customer service is good and pricing is fair so we really have no reason to switch.

I have had HomeTelecom for about 6 years now and overall am very happy with them. Initially I was put off because the box they had to bury in our front yard prevented grass from growing there, in fact even now it's still a bald patch. However the service itself is great. Fast speeds and has been pretty solid in terms of reliability. I just wish the pricing was a bit better. It is inline with competition overall but paying over $150 a month for 1Gig just feels like a lot. I currently subscribe to the 300mbps for about half that and honestly it's more than I need. So while I have a few grumbles, I still highly recommend them.
