March 31, 2026 I rarely take the time to write reviews, but after over a year of using the fiber internet service provided by our local co-op here in Joshua, I feel compelled to share how impressed I’ve been. If you live in Johnson County, especially in more rural areas like Joshua, you probably know how difficult it’s been to get fast, reliable internet. That changed completely when our electric co-op rolled out fiber-to-the-home service.
First off, the installation process was incredibly smooth. The technicians arrived right on time, were very professional, and did a neat job running the fiber line to my home. They even helped configure my router and made sure everything was up and running before they left. From scheduling to setup, the experience was seamless.
But what really blew me away is the quality of the service. I signed up for the 1 Gbps plan, and I consistently get close to advertised speeds both up and down. No throttling, no strange drops during peak hours, and no data caps—which is something I really appreciate coming from a big-name ISP I used to be stuck with. I work remotely and do a lot of video conferencing and large file transfers, and the difference this fiber connection has made is night and day. Zero buffering during Zoom calls, and I can upload large media projects in a fraction of the time.
Gaming and streaming have also become much smoother experiences. My kids can be gaming online, my partner streaming 4K Netflix in the other room, and I can still download a large update for work—all without any slowdowns.
Another thing that sets this service apart is the customer support. Because it’s a cooperative, you really feel like you're dealing with neighbors and not a faceless corporation. Any time I’ve called, I’ve spoken with a local rep who understands our area and actually cares about resolving the issue. That local connection makes a world of difference.
The price is fair, especially considering the quality of the connection. There are no hidden fees, and the co-op is transparent about everything. Plus, they seem to reinvest in the community and infrastructure, which makes me feel good about where my money is going.
In short, this fiber service has completely transformed my home internet experience. I no longer worry about slowdowns, outages, or calling a customer service line just to be put on hold for hours. For anyone living in Joshua or elsewhere in Johnson County who has access to this co-op fiber service, don’t hesitate. It’s hands-down the best internet experience I’ve ever had—and it’s from a provider that actually cares about the people they serve.
March 26, 2026 We paid extra to upgrade the speed because the general package wasn't enough. We live outside of town and do not live near were speeds maybe faster. Our family is large and we all have different devices. Had to have something better to keep up and not slow down after to much time on.
