XFINITY Cable
April 07, 2026 I think Xfinity falsely overestimates its place as an internet provider. While they are one of the most popular well known brands, it is not shown through their customer service or the way they bill you. The speed of the internet leaves little to be desired, the outages are almost constant, and the hidden pricing for things you were unaware of is insane. Any kind of inclement weather in your area and their whole system is down. They overcharge and give you the bare minimum. I am sure there are other service providers out there that while although not as well known, probably treat their customers better and bring better service to the areas they provide it to.

Windstream Fiber
October 18, 2023 Windstream is the only other ISP in my area, aside from Spectrum. Their service may not be the best, but when it's working it's fairly reliable. I have had numerous issues with their Modem Router, and Customer Service on more than one occasion. At one point my household didn't have internet for over a month because they put our service on "vacation", which we never asked for nor was there reason to do so. They wouldn't change it for whatever reason for weeks, despite our pleas to fix it sooner. That's just the worst case we've ever had with them. I wouldn't rate them overly because of that, but overall, their service does speak for itself.

Windstream DSL
October 10, 2023 Windstream is definitely not the best company when it comes to pricing or speed, at least where I am. In bigger cities they're rolling out fiber, but we can't get it yet, so in my area you get about half the speed or less for the same price as competitors like Spectrum. Even so I still use and recommend the company. For starters they don't use data caps, which I consider to be the single biggest benefit, since data caps are the single biggest anti-consumer practice in this industry, and its value can't be understated. I personally don't care how generous said caps are, I refuse to ever help push forward that practice with my business. Furthermore, Windstream doesn't care about torrenting and other activities, which I don't do, but still support them for because it also underlines they care about consumer privacy, equally important today. These aspects, to me, are more valuable than speed and competitive pricing.
