AT&T Fixed Wireless
January 09, 2026 AT&T is a decent internet provider in terms of basic service availability, but my experience with them over the years has been frustrating and disappointing. One of the biggest issues I have faced is the unreliable connection, with the WiFi frequently going in and out, especially during bad weather when service outages become far too common. Reaching their customer service is another challenge. The automated phone systems are difficult to navigate and it often takes a long time to get in touch with an actual representative. Scheduling a home visit for technical support is even more difficult, sometimes taking days or even weeks. Additionally, AT&T has a habit of tacking on random fees without any prior notice, which feels both dishonest and disrespectful to loyal customers. As their prices continue to rise, the service is slowly becoming unaffordable, and the value simply does not match the cost. While they may offer decent speeds in some areas, the overall experience leaves much to be desired, and I cannot recommend AT&T as a reliable or customer-friendly internet provider.

August 14, 2025 I don’t like that they force me to have a landline so get a better price. I don’t even plug a phone in. But every time I try to cancel my internet goes up.
The internet is working fine, but close to one hundred dollars. I think that is outrageous, but you get used to having it so you can’t exactly cancel it because it’s become essential.
I stream for entertainment several hours a day and constantly on my iPad.

Loved it even better in a previous house where I had a Verizon mmWave cell tower just outside my kitchen window and got 1200-2400Mbps

Brandenburg Telecom Fiber
November 21, 2024 The local telcom supplies our internet here. It's been very good for us, and allows us to stream all the video and games we want, even though we live in the backwoods area of the county. They ran fiber cable all thru the county, and I think they've tried to give fiber to every household - partially because it's cheaper than the old copper line telephone service, I'm sure. The fee is reasonable, and apparently they have up to 1 Gig internet speeds, but I'm on a lower plan because of the cost. Unfortunately, unless you live in the local area, you can't sign up for their service.
