Greenlight Networks Fiber
May 27, 2025 I have been very happy with Greenlight! We upgraded from Spectrum, so everything from the customer support and speeds has been leaps and bounds better. To start, the pricing is fair and was $50/month for a long time, however unfortunately they increased it to $55/month recently, which is my biggest complaint. Other than that, installation went smoothly, and the speeds we get exceed my expectations - We pay for 500 up and down, but end up getting more like 540! While the ~double the upload speed as well as the amazing low fiber latency has been great, the upload speeds have been absolutely amazing coming from 10mbps, and originally only 2mbps. Overall, I highly recommend Greenlight Networks if you live in an area in NY state where you can get them - My biggest annoyance with them was simply waiting for such a long time for their service to come to my neighborhood - we were waiting for many years. Also, I wish they showed more attention to detail in the installation process - Spectrum used a white cable to match our white siding, while Greenlight used a black one - just a nitpick, but my last concern with the amazing service they provide.
One last thing to mention is that it's also truly amazing having the option to pay more to upgrade to up to 8gbps - A speed I absolutely don't need for anything, but purely having the option at a reasonable price is just amazing!

May 15, 2025 I have amazingly fast service with the fiber cables. Also it is very rare to have interruptions in service. This is very important because I work from home. I previously used Internet through the phone company and not only was it slow but we had frequent service interruptions. I am very happy now.

October 31, 2024 I never knew how much stress an ISP put on me until I was able to switch to Greenlight. Nothing quite compares to the satisfaction I feel. 99% of my interactions with friends, family, or other people on the internet are only able to complain about how their respective ISP is screwing them over. Yet, I sit here and look at my amazing speeds (speeds that they OVER deliver on... who knew that was a thing?!) and how great their customer service is and just breathe this sigh of relief. We never have outages. We pay a flat rate of $60 per month for a static IP and 500Mb down and up and we routinely clock over that. I absolutely love this ISP. I would be hard pressed to move if I couldn't get access to this ISP.

August 24, 2024 While we are very happy with Greenlight, one thing we dislike intensely is that everything is through email. Have an urgent support request? Send an email. Have a question about billing? Send an email. I just saw their physical location over the weekend while we were driving around, so clearly ACTUAL people work there. The speed is very good, especially because my husband and I are empty nesters. BUT, not being able to get a real person on the phone is ANNOYING. I have also heard people complain about their model for how they determine what areas to expand into. You have to have enough people to sign up. I am not sure that all areas are served the same as Rochester varies greatly economically across the city.

December 23, 2023 I've had this internet provider for 8 years now. I feel that I'm paying a fair price for the internet speeds that I receive. However, they installed an older model router in my apartment initially and never bothered to update it when they switched away from using that model. Based on the fact that they are serving populations who know nothing about this technology, I think the onus should be on them to make sure their technology is up to date in their customer's house. Especially if they had already installed an older model initially. Besides that incidence, the internet has been good. After the updated model was installed, the internet performs to the standard I would expect it to.
