October 03, 2025 Starry is really the only low cost internet carrier in the Denver area. Competitors such as Comcast or CenturyLink have started to charge absurd prices for offensively slow internet speeds. The most frustrating part is that internet as a whole in Denver is more expensive than a lot of other states and the speeds offered are also significantly slower. I used to have CenturyLink internet but I felt I was being price gouged considering it was $65/month for 200mbps. Thankfully someone in my building mentioned Starry and so far I haven't had a single issue. Sure the speeds aren't lightning fast but it can handle everything I do and for less than $30/month it can't be beat.
July 22, 2025 Starry is a fairly small company, only present in a small handful of cities and with limited availability in those respective cities, but is establishing itself as a good alternative to the most popular and often default internet service providers. I live in a building with 4 different options for service providers so I was able to make an informed decision about which service provider I used, so I was pleased with Starry as a reasonably priced option. I was somewhat unsatisfied that the fine print of my agreement was that my first year was a discounted rate (very common in the internet service industry) but the price is still pretty good for fast speeds and reliable service. My partner and I can both be connected to our remote desktops for work, streaming or watching videos/movies, and taking videos calls with very few hiccups. Only intense weather has caused dropouts in the service but that has happened only twice in two years of using the service.
July 17, 2025 I first learned about Starry through advertisement flyers around my apartment building. At the time, Spectrum was increasing our plan's price so I felt like it was a good time to change providers. What I didn't expect was the same consistency and speed of connection despite being much cheaper! Not only was Starry's internet easy to set up (thanks to their excellent customer service), I haven't had any problems since then. The only regret I have about Starry is not switching to them sooner.
