Zito Internet Reviews

When I signed up for Zito a dozen or so years ago, you couldn't buy stand alone Internet. You had to buy the TV/Internet package with the option of landline. Typical rural monopoly...we're the only game in town. I'm not some anti-TV crazy, except for a few things such as the World Series, there's just nothing on TV I want to watch. So I was paying an additional $150/mo. for something I didn't want or use. And the service was terrible. If cable went out on Friday, you might have it back on Tuesday. Of course you also lost your landline which is important in an area with limited cell phone coverage. And even the slightest power outage of a second or two knocked down your modem which may take a day to reboot. Now they have competition, I can buy internet as a stand alone service but switched to Starlink as my primary internet provider. I've had zero problems with Starlink and would drop Zito all together if it wasn't for my landline. With competition they are getting better but it shouldn't have taken that to care about their subscribers.

Outages, Horrible customer service

My primary Internet provider is Zito but I also pay for T-mobile (top tear) as I have to work and Zito was going down a lot. Zito has the worst customer service I have ever experienced but it was the only option for me in a rural area when i work from home. Zito recently upgraded to fiber (a whole other story of woe from me as a customer) and it normally has a better connection. However, when it goes down now, my systems automatically switch to the T-Mobile which causes issues with the switching of the IP. So, now I pay for top tier on two providers just to ensure that I have a high quality connections at all times. Sadly, both went down at the same time one day last month (for different reasons.) I really miss the service I had while living in a suburban area but I guess it's a trade-off.

Living in a rural area, it's incredibly hard to find good internet. We are just getting fiber installed across the county and hope that it is available to most of the town soon. There are frequent outages caused by wildfire, power outages, and out of date equipment failing. Most recently, my internet company has decided that they will change your card on file arbitrarily if you don't pay by their created deadline (not the deadline on the bill). They claim that auto-pay is required to open an account at all but can't provide that information in writing.

They really dislike that I use my own modem and router because they don't get to charge ridiculous amounts of money for renting their equipment.
