I think that Optimum is not a bad internet provider but not the best for those that work at home. Although we have the 1G speed internet and wifi, a lot of times it doesn't even reach close to those speeds. I also think they are on the expensive side. I used to have a different provider, in a different location that gave me 1.5G and it was only $60/ month. Optimum charges $85 a month for what I have. Unfortunately there are no other providers near me that I can choose from so I am stuck with this company. Other than what's mentioned above, I haven't had any issues regarding reaching out to Customer Service or service being down. 3/5 provider overall in my opinion.

Optimum has low prices for quality service. The download and upload speeds are great. The speeds sometimes lower between 5pm and 9pm, but not by very much. If you steam television platforms I highly recommend choosing Optimum. Optimum also offers a lock in price option so you're monthly rate will not change for a full year. I am very satisfied with this carrier for my home internet service and highly recommend.

I am mostly happy with my provider and their pricing. Recently, there has been an issue with the internet going out intermittently, never for more than 5-10 minutes at a time. Optimum is aware of the issue, and has been working on maintenance. They are communicative about when maintenance is planned and is occurring.

Thankfully, we have had little to no quality problems, unlike my parents with their providers. If through a near miss with tornados, our service was perfectly in tact and we had no issues through the storm. We seldom have issues with slow service and have never had issues with our service going completely out. Our community members have had issues during weather with different providers, but we never experienced it. We are pretty satisfied with our provider and service.
