TDS Internet Reviews

I recently canceled our TDS internet due to almost constant buffering in a suburb surrounded by TDS customers. I had a credit balance at the time of cancelation. One month later TDS withdrew $112.69 from my bank account leaving me with $160.00 + credit because it was on autopay even though it had a credit balance and service had been canceled. I called for a refund and was told I'd have to wait from 120-150 days + 3 weeks + 10 days for my refund. What does that even mean? So TDS Corporate has the use of my money (and everyone else's)for 150 days. It's a racket. Don't get TDS and if you do DON'T do auto pay. Predatory policies!

I was overcharged for several months. I had a $49.95 3 yr plan, but I was overcharged and TDS promised to credit me for the overcharges but they never did. I spent hours on the phone with them! I cancelled and then found out that they DO NOT prorate for partial months service. CANNOT RECOMMEND! go with Quantum fiber!

In our local area, TDS is one of only 2 options, the other being Century Link. TDS has consistently been the more stable of the two providers, with less overall outages, better pricing, and better service. Their technicians are almost always timely and have been very knowledgeable. Their equipment is high quality and long lasting despite advances in technology, and when something needs to be replaced, they are fast and efficient in doing so. Pricing structure is fair and well set up for the various speeds offered. The best part is, they're constantly making infrastructure advancements and bit by bit rolling out gigabit fiber across my town, while their competitors sit on their hands and make no effort to evolve.

I live in a rural community with very limited opportunities for internet service providers, and use my local phone provider (TDS) for DSL. I will grant them that their price without competition is proper, and their service department is wonderful; their speed offerings are very poor. Even if I can download at 5 megs, and upload of less than 768k (usually reading) is not acceptable. They will not change or improve this unless you buy into a $100+ package, and even then, they will not guarantee their speed. So I deal with what they have to offer.
